Hello.

JWHi, I’m Jocelyn.

And I’ve lived a pretty charmed life.

A few years ago, my whole world changed.

My Mom passed away suddenly after a very brief illness.

And it shattered everything I thought I knew.

But in the storm, some things held. Or maybe just held me. God, family, friends. Hope.

My Mama Bear had two prayers, among many thousands, she prayed for me throughout my life. I think she’s still praying those prayers.

My Mom prayed I would be bold and be good. She told me that boldness carries blessing; and she counseled there is a wholeness and holiness to simply seeking the good.

Writing has been a meditation that focuses my prayers and illuminates the path ahead.

As I’ve done the work, I find I write most about grace, growth, and grief.

So to honor my Mama Bear, I want to live a journey marked by her wisdom: to be bold and be good. To carry grief with grace. To make the most of my time. Explore what that means. And how it is practiced in my life.

I hope you’ll join me on the journey.

    All excellent guiding principles to guide you through life. Go into new projects, such as this one, as a way of exploring how one can be both bold and good in action, doing no harm intentionally as one nonetheless pursues a different path than others sometimes,

    1. Thanks for your encouragement, Simone. Be bold, but also be good. We can move forward boldly and in a way that seeks good for others and ourselves. That should be the goal!

  4. So sorry to hear about your mom.
    Lost mine at 29 also suddenly during a surgery.
    Much love to you. And your dad, your mom was a force, but a good one.
    Mike Byrnes my best friend is going in right now for quadruple by pass surgery. I covet your prayers 🙏
